Poem 14
Christian's Fire
Buckets of fuel that we tossed on a fire,
Watching the flames burn bright on a pyre.
Laughing like children bound up in glee,
Ignoring the message that came before we;
Embarked on a journey that took us cross town,
Wrapped in our memories, a bit broken down.
But willing to work towards transformation,
That brings us together as though we were one.
It hasn't been easy, life never is,
As needs, do's and wants all seek to crowd in,
To all of the space we've created so far,
Now time looking forward to make us each stars.
Beyond all the grungies and back to the hood,
We played in as youngsters when it just felt good.
To be in the moment, and set free to chose,
Those children within us with nothing to lose.
So build up your fire, set down all your toys,
And ready your buddies, to put up some noise.
Discover the freedom, and breakthrough your doubt,
Live life in the moments, that bring you to shout.
Of causes that matter, of people set free,
The difference between us, is just you and me.
So strike up the drummer, assemble the band,
And burn down the nonsense, that made you so mad.
There are no excuses, the victims are gone,
Your fire burns brightly, and tightens our bond.
For out of the fire, we may yet escape,
The difference between us that lays on our plate.
The young know emotion unbridled by greed,
Embracing the notion in favor of speed.
Peace lives for the moment, love for the need.
The freedom burst round us, and sows little seeds.
